:About Us:
Why Our Candles?
At Sweet As You Please™ we carefully create our hand-poured candles out of a
plant-derived natural wax known as soy wax. Soy candles have
become a popular trend in the candle making industry for many
wonderful reasons. Unlike the more accessible petroleum-based
wax, known as paraffin, our soy wax is created with a pure 100%
natural soybean base and enhanced with botanical oils. This
soybean base is made from domestically grown crops and is all
natural, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly. Not to
mention, this wax does not contain petroleum, paraffin, or
beeswax products. We are also proud to announce that our candles
contain lead-free, 100% cotton wicks. All of this allows us to
have a candle that burns brighter, cleaner, cooler, healthier,
and longer than the typical paraffin candle.
At Sweet As You Please™,
our fragrance selection is comprised of both fragrance and
essential oils. Fragrance oils are artificial oils that capture
scents we encounter in our everyday lives. Essential oils, on
the other hand, are obtained from plants and are often used in
aromatherapy practices. With this bit of knowledge in hand, we
hope you enjoy all of the benefits our soy candles offer. It
certainly has changed our outlook on the candle burning
experience.
Our Story
In 2001, Samantha and Susan began the long
but exciting road of developing their business venture. After
many ideas had been bandied about, one idea stuck and has
quickly blossomed into a concept and vision of which they are
more than proud. The inspiration? Traditional store bought
candles with their standard colors, fragrances, and paraffin
wax.
Susan and Samantha
wanted to change the way people buy their candles. They wanted
them to enjoy their entire candle from the way it burns to the
way it looks. The concept for Sweet As You Please™ was born and the designing process began. With many
candle recipes tried and rejected, they finally achieved their
desired blend and are happy to bring it to you. We at Sweet As
You Please™
hope you enjoy burning your candles as much as we enjoyed making
them! |
